I made my own I/O panel out of this.
It has i matte black finish, in case you are not a fan of glossy things.
It's made of steel. Strong and sturdy. No dents or defects were caused by drilling the holes. I fitted 24 type-d XLR sockets on this.

As I stated above, this 2 U panel is the perfect solution when you want to close a gap on you rack. I use it in an IEM/Wireless mics rack where I have 2 units left and it hides the cables inside the rack. Solid construction with no bending because of the 90 degrees dented lower side. Great product!

There is not a lot you can say about a 2U rack panel, but I will have a go.

One major thing (I think is major) is that the end of the strip top and bottom is bent over at 90 degrees with makes this a very stiff and strong panel, especially when combined wit the fact that is it a quite heavy gauge steel it is pressed from. Many rack strips have no bent edge which makes them flex and this starts to make the paint crack, so no problem with this one.

Once fitted int the rack, it is rock solid. I would also have no problems in drilling into this strip for fitting plug sockets etc.

If you want a cheap, yet sturdy and reliable rack panel to close 2U of your case, this is it! Metal is hard and with a smooth surface, and the slight U curve it has makes this panel perfect from an esthetic point of view, too. Black color is just that, and it goes okay with all of my other rack's units
