Great sound that you know from thousands of recordings
I use this preamp with great results on vocal, snare, guitar, ukulele. It has quite dark sound which seats beautifully in the miks. I recommend this version of preamp due to two stages of amplification. You can saturate signal on first stage and attenuate it on second to hit converters at desired level. 20db pad is very useful on drums recording. It’s pricey but extremely well build. I recommend it for serious studio jobs.
