Audient iD44 MKII

Coming from using Focusrite and having issues with drivers, pops and clicks. Tried everything over the years to eradicate those issues to no avail. When it did work it was ok but the issues always surfaced. Finally made the decision to jump ship and ordered the id44 mk2 from Amazon. I'm in the states near the Great Lakes, fwiw. The unit was shipped to me in a bag and beat up. Two bent volume pots. I was bummed to say the least. I heard great things about Thomann and decided to go for it. Order arrived within four business days packaged very well. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Thomann! Order with confidence if you're in the states. As far as the MK2 goes...So far so good. Not one issue and the preamps are killer. Ultra low latency and noise floor.

Audient devices are notoriously low noise and high quality from my personal experience.
I've got plenty of gain for most devices I use, save some microphones that do still benefit from a cloudlifter or something similar.

The interface itself is great. The computer application sometimes needs to be restarted if your PC is put into sleep mode ( I use windows). But overall, the loop back functionality is great, and gives me options to route gear in with it to use as a soundboard of sorts when gaming.

Im a home producer, so I might not use everything this interface has to offer, but I've never been limited in what I can achieve by it!

Other interfaces, such as good old Focusrite Scarlett worked OK on my machine but I wanted to upgrade to something that would have less latency and would be more stable.
The features of this device are great but by god the drivers for windows are just absolutely horrible. 10mb software driver installer, should tell you something. Constant pops, cracklings sounds, regardless of the buffer size. Likes to switch to 96 kHz on a whim. Doesn't like when you switch the buffer size. Step level on the main volume knob! yes! Just like on a cheap car radio!
Despite being made of metal, feels a little flimsy. I like that it has a switch and comes with two cables, but the usibility of this device is just not on the level that's been marketed. Or maybe it's just my computer, but again, other interfaces work much better.
Steinberg UR2RT was much better too.
