Rare species of original delay

We all have tons of delay pedals so why this one stole my heart? First, it sounds not exactly pristine - digital. The sound reminds DD-2 delay with frequency response up to about 8kHz and somie 12 bit artifacts. The result is the sound that is clear enough to cut through the noise but somehow oldschool sounding. Second: i love delays with modulation. The fun beginns when you set long delay time and long feedback and add some modulation. After few seconds the sound becomes ambient as every next repeat becomes a "wave" of some three dimensional sea. Three: the stereo effect is made by setting offset between right and left channel. At the beginning I was sceptic but it sounds really good. With some service settings made by setting the knobs in the speciffic position and powering the unit simultanously you reach acces to advanced settings like "wet only" signal at the output. Believe me or not but I use it as a send effect during mix and it sounds awesome. Sync with midi ? Of course. Connect midi/trs cable one side to your sondcarrd and the other to the midi-in of SDE-3 and you got it.

Boss SDE-3 Dual Digital Delay Review

While looking to link the tap tempo of a boss dd-8 to a looper rc-5 (midi in, out) and a slicer sl-2 (midi in), I discovered this new pedal which unlike the dd-8 has a midi in port. Having read the spec on the boss website I was convinced the SDE-3 was exactly what I was looking for. The pedal has far exceeded my expectations, simple to operate with a host of cool delay and stereo options.

Another outstanding pedal from boss.

Quality Delay, Worth the Money!

I purchased this pedal 6 months ago to replace a budget delay pedal that I had been using previously. I'm probably only scratching the surface of what this pedal can actually do but I'm still very impressed with how good it sounds. I felt my budget delay pedal sounded okay on clean tones but took away a lot of oomph from distorted sounds but my distortion still sounds great with the SDE-3. Solid construction and excellent usability as you would expect from a Boss pedal. I recommend also ordering a bass plate (item 549988) if putting on a pedal board.

Best delay pedal?
