being strung on my Hofner 500/1 Beatles bass the ends are very thick and didn't fit into the saddle, so I had to use some pressure and the cloth wiring started to go off immediately.... Once the fight has been won and the strings are on your bass you will see that they sound weaker and lighter than for example LaBella Flatwound bass strings for Beatles Basses.
Another effect is that the strings got damaged on the bridge and the black nylon wiring fell off after very short time. THIS does not happen when you use Pyramid Black Nylon Tapewounds.

They work very well, I just had some problems fitting E string in small tuner on my shortscale bass so I had to unwind some of blue material on the end
