i've used Elixir nanoweb strings for about twenty years – them alone, all gauges, on all of my guitars, until last year.

i've tried these XSE once, and they've become my regular set, replacing the long standing standard i had chosen before.

here's why: i feel them smoother to the touch, though not as heavily coated – and they've outlasted the nanowebs in my climate and environment (on plain strings in particular, those that somewhat tarnished within one year).

i only play with just washed hands, and clean strings thoroughly after any play, and lightly lube them after cleaning... which i always did with my previous standard, too, though it helped them less than what it helps with these: not one of these tarnished so far.

i had to wait until 12-52 became available, to adopt XSEs across my whole inventory (which includes a pair of jazz boxes)... now there's just the baritone left missing, which i'm forced to still string with Elixir nanowebs – and i hope the XSE range will soon be extended to 13-68 or 14-72 set, in order to only use these strings across the whole floor.
