Fun mallet but quality could be better

The grey side is rubbery and the red side is metally. It's big, 150mm and 500g. It works well but it doesn't quite convince me plus the were some aspects that could be improved.
Firstly, the shaft is wood, not metal. These is araldite that had run from the shaft to head join and there is are big ugly nuts at the base of the head which are covered on the out side but not on the shaft side, plus there might be flecks of rust on the shaft nut. The fabric that covers it is not pulled neatly all the way round and the rubber underneath doesn't feel consistent which means some places are harder than others.
You can get good sounds out of it and it works on most gong sizes... but.... it didn't quite work for me.
