Great P bass pickup

Used the classic EMG P for years. Tried this one in one of my P basses and the alnico magnet changed the sound a lot. More open, more mids, clear highs but less agressive than the originals.
The sound is more balanced and "passive" in character.
The included screws were a bit annoying but otherwise its a great product.

The metal covers are a nice touch.

Always a great package with EMG. Clean well packaged, easy to read instructions. Easy install, quality parts.
The sound of this pickup is perfect for that p bass punch. Perfectly noiseless. Great tone!

Montés sur une Cort Action Bass (rouge), l'idée de départ était de faire une Bass thème : Rouge et Or.

Tout a été changé en laiton : sillet, chevalet, mécanique... Ne manquait plus que ces micros.

1. Montage : pas évident, pas de notice pour tellement expliquer que met-on ou. Après plusieurs expériences, j'ai finalement réussi à leur trouver une position stable
Idem, ils ne sont pas faciles à stabiliser.

2. Son : au début, mal monté, j'étais véritablement déçu, eu l'impression de n'avoir payé qu'une marque cependant, une fois bien monté, j'y ai ajouté un ampli actif de chez EMG (qui traînait dans mon tiroir) et la, la magie s'est faite 😍😍😍

Avec un montage en B, le son de ma basse est top. C'est ce que j'attendais d'un équipement custom.
Dommage qu'il ne faille un ampli actif pour que ces micros expriment leur potentiel !

Ich muss zugeben, dass ich sie mir nur geholt habe aufgrund der Les Claypool affilliation. Nur sollte es nicht wunderlich sein, dass ich den Sound fantastisch finde, es sind immerhin die Gleichen, die Claypool selbst benutzt.

Verpackung ist hervorragend, das wiring Kit ist simpel und gut verarbeitet (kein Löten nötig). Soweit ich es verstanden habe, basieren diese auch auf den Standard EMG PA precision Pickups und sind entsprechend qualitativ hochwertig und klingen gut. Die Funktionalität ist vielleicht für den ein oder anderen etwas eingeschränkt, denn trotz des aktiven Elements, ist hier nicht mehr toneshaping möglich, als bei vielen anderen precision pickups.

Über den Preis kann man streiten, aber man bekommt aufjedenfall ein Weltklasse Produkt mit einem sauberen, brushed gold finish.
