HG
Great guitar at a great price!
Happy Guild Customer 20.06.2022
Overall I'm very happy with this guitar. It feels nice in my hands. It's light and sounds good. The tuners do a good job keeping the guitar in tune. The finish quality is actually better than on most Gibsons I have seen in recent years. In fact, this guitar is gorgeous! So for a fraction of the price you can get yourself a really nice 335-style guitar. The only downside is that the tone controls seem to function as on or off rather than transitioning smoothly and gradually. But if you typically don't touch the tone controls, this shouldn't bother you much. Similar thing goes for the volume, which is a bit of a bummer, but I suppose the pots could be fairly easily upgraded if you're the kind of player that plugs straight into the amp and needs to do all the adjustments directly on the guitar. In terms of split coil function - don't expect miracles; however, I typically set mine to split neck pickup and humbucker in the bridge and I'm quite happy with the sound that comes out of my amp. So despite the electronics being slightly below those heard on guitars that cost 3-4 times more, it's still a wonderful instrument that can produce very pleasing sounds. I know that for me, this is an instrument I will keep for a long time.

Guild. they just work well.
Velo73 14.09.2023
I've had 2 Guild acoustics before, which I tinkered with to get the action to my liking, but this is the first electric/hollow body I have had from Guild.
Guild just seems to work for me,
build quality is good.
everything works out of the box.
I haven't touched the action on this yet. it plays out of the box, the only thing I will change is the strings to my preferred ones.
the neck is slim, but comfortable to grip.
tone & volume are easy to grip & use.
nothing gets in the way, so you can strum & play licks with ease.
I bought the dc cherry red, which is nice, but each to their own.
its about the same size as a orchestra model acoustic but alot thinner.
I don't mind that but it will give people a size comparison.
being hollow it has more resonance than an electric guitar so you can play it unplugged, but don't expect t it to sound as loud as an acoustic.

I do think you get what you pay.
for those who want something that plays out of the box, it works
build equality is good.
action is good.
for the fact I had had 3 guilds say's they are a good guitar maker.

I have also bought all 3 guilds from Thomann.
so guild & Thomann seems a good mix.

perfect guitar, perfect service

I had a 1959 Starfire blond colour 50 years ago, but due to circumstances changing I had to sell it many moons ago.
I have restarted playing guitar and the memory of the original Guild was to much so I ordered this Starfire 1 just to ease back into it.
The guitar, though a different colour and double cut is still a beauty.
It is light and well balanced.
After the initial setup it plays absolutely beautifully with the comfortable neck and spacing between the strings and brings back good memories of the original guitar with a lively sound, ideal for blues or blues rock.
For the price you cannot go wrong, and it was cheaper then my Epiphone Casino Coup and fender Strat player guitars, and sounds better than both.
Now to save up for the Starfire VI maple blond which is the closest to my original currently available.
Buying unseen from Thomann was an unknown, but their customer service was excellent, the delivery from UPS was faultless and arrived 2 days late but this was due to a weekend the day after I ordered.
