It's not only great for it's price, it's also great just as an instrument by itself. The stock pickups sound great, you can easily get a great tone with just the DI, I thought I'd have to swap them, but honestly I'll probably leave them as they are. The neck is the most comfortable neck in any instrument I've ever played, and I've tried a bunch of expensive guitars, still I really mean it. The only problems I have are in some of the parts - the nut and the bridge have sharp edges, I'll probably swap out the bridge but only sand the nut, because the string spacing is perfect. The tuners feel a bit cheap. The volume knob slips out of its place when using push pull. If you know how to mod and like doing it, it's a perfect product. Sounds great, built great, looks nice, but requires some swaps on tuners, bridge and knobs. But if you want something affordable as your first bass and don't know too much about how the instrument is built, you're probably better off buying a Squier, or an Ibanez GIO. For me, it's a perfect instrument, and I already have some plans for the mods. Some gold hardware would look perfect on that black finish!
