It's my first FRFR speaker and I use it with Hx stomp XL, I have never use any other FRFR before.
I bought it as I wasn't satisfied with the sound of my presets using different amps in different rehearsal rooms I play with my band.
Before buying I read many opinions and I was afraid that it would be not enough loud, but for me the loudness and sound quality are great! It sounds great with the low volume to play at home and it also has enough power to play with the whole band. On rehearsals, I set the volume at max on the speaker and then adjust is to the needs with a stomp. Even when the volume is set to max the sound is super clear and there is no hum.
HPF function is great, without it guitar sounds too bassy. The con is that it also affects Bluetooth sound, so I don't like to play backing tracks with headrush.
With the weight, it's easy to carry, but the handle could be designed on the top not the bottom.
To sum I recommend it to play with guitar and Hx stomp. It sounds great with low volume at home, has enough volume to play on rehearsal, and is great to be used as a monitor on concerts.

Very quiet!!

Nice speaker to play at home. I’m using it together with gp200 modeller and it enough to practice at home. Unfortunately it is too quiet and it doesn’t stand a chance against louder drummer. I can’t use it during rehearsals and concerts it won’t cut through…..:/ Good choice if U need something to practice at home for other purposes to quiet!!!

Good, clean git amp solution and Bluetooth is a bonus.

I now have a pair of these (this paired with Mk1). The specs are updated though I can’t really notice any difference in sound, but then surely that’s how it should be given its ’FRFR’! However, the original was good enough and pairs very well with my HX Stomp (also old Vox Tonelab SE and a couple of others). The Bluetooth is a welcome addition and hardware volume control is handy. Connects and remembers. A solid unit; the 8’ version is super portable, storable and fits into nooks that challenge other gear!

Never be at the mercy of bad monitors again!

I play in a segment of gigs where this thing comes in handy. We don't have amps on stage anymore, and we all play some sort of modeller or profiler. In the best of circumstances, we play our own IEM, but when we're in a line-up, we sometimes lack the change-over time to set this up.

Then, it can be something of a mixed bag: either the FOH/monitor-mixer knows what he's doing, or we all get a crappy mix. In the latter case, I have found that it is often times advisable to let the mixing guy focus on the lead singer, turn the other wedges you got from the venue off and plug your modeller directly into this Headrush instead.

It is loud enough for most applications, and you get a pristine, unaltered sound that you don't normally get out of a stage-wedge (or even your IEMs). It is mostly plastic in terms of build but not too flimsy, with correct specs in terms of controls: two separate 1/4" or XLR channels, bluetooth, a main control and mix through.

When I go out gigging, I always keep it in my car as a fail-safe. It is small and not too heavy, but it packs a mean punch. For bass, I would have probably considered the 12" version, but given the obtainable sound levels from the 8", in combination with the handy size and light weight, the Headrush people did a great job on this thing.
