I had always dreamed of owning an Ibanez RG550 since the early 90s when I started my guitar journey. It was the guitar of my dreams, and now, after many years, I finally have it in my collection. This is my first Ibanez from the Japanese factory, which adds even more value to this purchase. The Japanese have a natural talent for craftsmanship, evident not only in their knives and swords but also in their musical instruments.
The guitar is perfectly made in every aspect, and honestly, there is nothing to complain about. Of course, after taking it out of the box, it required tuning and minor adjustments, such as tightening screws on the nut and strap locks by the bridge, but that’s normal for new guitars to ensure they survive transport without damage.
After these adjustments, the guitar stays perfectly in tune, and fans of a low string action can really enjoy playing it. I won’t be changing the pickups anytime soon because, to me, they sound quite good. The only downside is the large heel connecting the neck to the body — people with small hands like me will have to get used to it a bit, but you can’t have everything.
Despite these minor details, I already love this guitar and definitely won’t be returning it. For me, it’s just awesome. Regarding the service and speed of order fulfillment, even though the store was out of stock initially, everything was handled very efficiently. Unfortunately, the package arrived from Germany to Poland opened, which seems to be a common issue with shipping companies nowadays.
In summary, I am very pleased with this purchase — it’s the fulfillment of a guitar dream and an excellent instrument in terms of quality, sound, and playability.
