Out of tune - defective first string.
It is usually fun to try new strings out, sometimes you can find something nice. Sadly the first string of these was a quarter tone flat at the 12th fret. Not much music sounds good with a string like that! I replaced it with a competitor's and my lovely Contreras guitar was perfectly in tune again. With such poor quality control I cannot recommend these strings. Buyer beware.
