Küng Superio Alto recorder in pear wood
I've only had six days to play in my Küng Superio Alto recorder so far but I can already say that, like all Küng recorders, it has a distinctive timbre and a very stable and powerful low register. It's ideal for consort playing or as a solo instrument. I ordered the soprano version at the same time and that too is very impressive. If you want a recorder with a sweet sound and a strong low register the Superio is ideal. Küng say it needs high breath pressure but it isn't noticeably high and it probably helps with the stability of the low register.

Absolute Bargain
Amazing to have such high level quality at this price. I realize this instrument is mostly machine produced but the result is outstanding. After only three days the upper register is coming to life and I can see that the level of response will only increase once the instrument is broken in. It's a nice contrast playing this beside my handmade professional level instruments that cost five times the price. Only two minor complaints: the foot joint does not fit perfectly flush with the middle joint; I need to twist it to a certain angle in order for it to fit. The other is that the skin oils from my face have already stained the beak where they come in contact. I must attribute that to qualities of pearwood. Highly reccommend this instrument.
