The Ultimate Portable Speaker for Busking and Intimate Gigs
I was looking for a compact, battery-powered speaker for street performing and small gigs without the hassle of cables and power outlets. After plenty of research, I went with the LD Systems ANNY 8, and overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
Pros:
- Sound Quality: The audio stays clean and crisp with punchy bass and well-defined highs. While the overall volume isn't super loud, it's more than enough for small events, especially indoor venues.
- Buit-in Mixer: Super convenient for connecting a mic, an instrument, and streaming backing tracks via Bluetooth without bringing an external mixer.
- Battery Life: Outstanding performance. I used it at medium volume for 5–6 hours straight and still had charge left. Plus, the battery is easily replaceable.
- DSP & Bluetooth 5.3: Features useful onboard EQ presets and seamless TWS stereo pairing with a second unit.
- Portability: Compact structure with a sturdy handle makes it easy to carry around.
Cons:
- Effect Routing: I haven't figured out if the onboard effect (reverb/delay) can be applied to individual channels. Right now, enabling the effect applies it to everything (meaning my backing tracks end up with reverb too, which isn't ideal).
Final Thoughts:
An excellent, versatile option for buskers, acoustic acts, or small indoor gatherings. Despite a few quirks with effect routing, it offers incredible value for the price!
