LD Systems SAT 82A G2

I got a pair of these as super-small floor monitors for live bands, mainly because the RCFs of similar size were not available. They are much louder than expected before distortion and have proved useful in helping singers to hear themselves, if they are positioned correctly.
The controls are minimal: combo XLR/jack input (nice touch) and an output XLR for linking to another powered monitor. No jack option on the output/link connection. There is a level control and an on/off switch and that's it. I prefer something uncomplicated though. Elaborate DSP can sometimes be a detriment.
The angled edges - ostensibly to facilitate their use as floor wedges - are slightly curved and consequently the speakers are rather precarious when balanced on these edges. They really are intended for music in shops restaurants and the wall-mounting brackets are further evidence to this. I was able to manage with them on the floor if the power cable acts as a sort of stabiliser. Works fine but you may not consider this ideal.
Much cheaper than the RCFs though, so great value.
I carry them around in a pair of Thomann Speaker Bag Behringer EPS500MP, which they fit in quite nicely.
