Get rid of your rim mounts and use these instead!
I bought these to replace some ugly rim mounts on a kit I bought second hand. I think the normal opti-mounts are a bit ugly, and I wanted the chrome finish to match the kit I had. These are not a cheap option, but I have to say I was surprised on 2 counts. Firstly, the sound was great with them fitted, I was expecting them to affect the resonance slightly, and it wasn't affected at all. Secondly, they were rock solid, no movement at all of the toms- I haven't seen this since the old days before suspension mount systems and the drum was bolted directly to the fittings. I was really impressed. they aren't my favourite system- the Yamaha Yess mount system uses less metal and covers up less of the tom finish than these, but I wouldn't retro-fit a yess system to a tom as it involves drilling new holes. For fitting on other drums that have no suspension system or for replacing ugly wobbly rims systems, these are great, attractive, light, resonant and stable. save up and get some for your toms.
