It's a string, it vibrates
I usually go straight for Elixir strings but I need a selection of backups on stage if something breaks, and I like using cheaper options. This was to me as good as any mainstream Ernie or D'addario but a cheaper price. Many other 'budget' strings can be absolutely terrible, this was fine.
