QSC CP12

I use QSC system for small/medium events up to 500 people. QSC CP12 are used either as monitors, side fills, front fills or delay lines. I really like their small format, but even though, they are still pretty powerful speakers. Six different voicing contours are great to use for different purposes. Floor monitor for monitor use, ext sub to use as side/front fills with KS woofers and speech for stand-alone operation. Stereo 3,5mm TRS connector is also really handy for that. Built quality is again on the side of QSC, CP12 feel really solid and well built. In terms of sound, they are of course not as good as K12.2 (logically, because they are lower price range), but they still sound very present, QSC like sound quality.

Pros:
- really compact, lightweight, small - easy for one-man job
- pretty strong for their small format
- very useful for different applications

Cons:
- with 126db SPL there is limit for types of applications for example for bigger stages, but that is not what CP12 is meant for
- under some conditions (type of music, weird PA environment) I felt they could be a little harsh on high-mids.

Really good speakers for this price range, which is pretty affordable. Build quality is solid, great features and good sound.

Gekauft als Paar für DJ Anwendungen. Ich habe entweder einen 18 Zoll Sub drunter, also als 2.1 PA oder zwei 12 Zoll Subs als 2.2 PA. Je nach Raum sind in beiden Konfigurationen indoor rund 150-200 Personen gut zu bespaßen. Aber auch Fullrange machen die Teile eine gute Figur. Dann aber maximal bei kleineren Feiern in kleineren Räumen mit höchsten ca. 80 Personen.

Klingen wirklich richtig gut, allerdings nur im Preset "Default" oder "Default mit Sub". Im Modus "Dance" wird die Box erstaunlicherweise recht schrill/hart in den Höhen. Das gefällt mir nicht so gut. Die Presets Sprache und Monitor habe ich nicht probiert, da uninteressant für mich. Aber die neutrale default Einstellung ist astrein. Sehr gut ist auch, dass es kaum Rauschen im Leerlauf gibt, keine störenden Lüfter und keine nennenswerte Feedbackanfälligkeit.

Das Handling der Box ist super. Gut zu tragen, schön leicht, schön kompakt (etwa so groß wie eine 10 Zoll Box). Passen sogar perfekt in die Gator Tote10 Bags. Nicht so gut gefällt mir, dass es keine Feststellschraube für die Stativaufnahme gibt. So muss man immer den K&M Ringlock Adapter dazu benutzen.

Insgesamt kann ich eine klare Empfehlung für diese Box aussprechen. Echt guter Klang, bis fast schon überragender Klang. Auch die erreichbare Lautstärke ist in der Praxis mehr als ausreichend. Andere Hersteller geben in dieser Klasse teilweise höhere db Peak Werte an, sind aber ganz sicher nicht lauter. Da erscheinen mir die QSC Angaben etwas "ehrlicher".
