Rohema 61475s Rubber Head Mallet

I bought this mallet for a children xylophone. I don't know much about mallets, and this is the first rubber mallet I ever bought, so now I know that it is not good for children metal xylophones (you know, the one with coloured keys). But then, as a mallet, it's fine: it does what it is supposed to, it hasn't broken, and the price is not very high.

This is a lovely little mallet. I bought it with the intention of using it on a variety of percussion instruments.... I've used it on bowls and on gongs, for a different kind of sound to that which I'd want when using the normal wooden wands or the fluffy headed mallets.... so it's a niche moment thing for me... and by no means a replacement for a traditional gong mallet or singing bowl wand!
And it works just as you might expect a little rubber mallet to work. It's well-built, nicely weighted and very inexpensive. :-)

I love this mallet. I use it for my Peter Hess Zen bowl in for sound healing sessions and it gives it such a beautiful and long lasting ring. The tone it creates is absolutely perfect, crystal clear and harmonious.

unbeatable price for a mallet you can use for a lot of different things besides what it was meant for...

It's a great mallet for the price. Not the best mallet there is, but it's not like your paying millions for it.. Good for testing out the different sounds.

I can never have enough of these. They are fantastic for kids. Nice weight and size. I would recommend glueing on the ball end if using these with kids that like to chew on sticks

Useful with kids. It's quieter than a hard mallet, so it may be too quiet on some instruments, but useful for that reason too. Can leave black marks on some surfaces if rubbed across instead of struck (wood, stickers), so keep an eye on how they are used.
