Roland SP-404MKII

The SP-404MKII is just amazing. It’s a bit different from other gear, but the shortcuts are easy to learn. Just read the manual or watch some tutorials. The build quality is great, and while the pads aren’t as responsive as on Maschine or Akai, they’re good enough. The workflow can feel confusing at first, but give it a few days, and making beats will feel smooth and natural. It’s probably not the best choice for beginners or people who don’t finger drum. The effects are fantastic especially if you’re after that classic lo-fi sound. The portability and connectivity are also huge pluses. You can basically take it anywhere and plug almost anything into it. I just love it.
