The eq is very musical, the compressor is transparent and the saturator is very pleasing. My only critiques are that the stepped controls feel little flimsy especially for this price point and there is no output knob at the end of the chain after you have applied your saturation which can increase volume levels and therefore need to use it sparingly.

Good to start with
I bought this unit after reading a lot of good things about it, very affordable as well compare to the Shelford one.
It’s very well built and nice to use, the preamp is cool, the trim useful to adjust and play with. The EQ very musical, and the compressor alright. The silk is surely a cool toy that adds up a lot in blue mode to bass or acc guitar.
All in all, my purpose was to get something different to complete my current tube chain, and it didn’t do the job. I think the unit sounds way too thin, also be aware there is no input transformer, you ll need a DI to plug your bass or guitar straight into it. I sent it back.
