Schaller GTM Bridge Non-Reverse C

In recent years, Gibson have been fitting poorer quality bridges as standard to their USA made instruments. I have seen several branded "PM" which I believe are made in China. The chrome plating on these has typically been less than perfectly smooth and the depth of colour looks somewhat less.

I find the Schaller GTM-C to be the perfect replacement, both in terms of tone and visual appearance. The fact that these bridges do not come pre-notched is perfect for me as a luthier, because it means I can correctly adjust it for string gauge, pole spacing and fingerboard radius. This may mean that for a DIY person, it would be better to have the bridge installed by a competent repairer unless you have the correct tools and are confident to do the necessary filing.

You should be careful to check the inserts, threading and post diameter and post centre spacing to make sure this is suitable for your instrument. The Schaller website has very detailed information on these dimensions.
