Tone City Tremble Tremolo

I play in a band where I sometimes use an AC30's built in tremolo + an additional tremolo for certain psychedelic effects. However some events just don't call for (or allow me) to bring an AC30, so I bought one of these to stick at the end of my pedal board.

This is where this is great - it's a fairly authentic replication of a sine wave 'Bias Trem'. It has the same level of depth and speed variety you'd normally have on an AC30, that is to say the speed is quite limited. Sine oscillators are like this by design, so for those who want a jack-of-all trade trem I'd look elsewhere. This is a recreation of a specific design.

It does like the variations in power amp distortion you get from an AC30, but in the FX loop of an amp it certainly could provide that. At this price point, who is complaining?

This is a simple and easy to use tremolo pedal with not many features: no wave shape or bias control, just volume, depth and speed. Speed is obvious and goes from very slow to not so fast but fast enough for most. Volume is nice if you want to compensate the perceived vol loss when engaged or even for getting a hefty boost. Alas, depth renders this pedal borderline unusable : even at minimum it is too much. Therefore this tremolo is not subtle and is only good if you want a prominent or over the top effect. Not for me.

Der Tremble war mehr oder weniger so ein "Hab ich einfach Bock drauf"- Kauf. So ein Tremolo fehlte halt noch im Schrank, letztendlich hat er aber zeitweise sogar seinen Weg aufs Liveboard gefunden.
Der Tremble ist ein einfaches one- trick Pony. Leichte und logisch aufgebaute Bedienung. Generell regelt er das Hauptvolume beim Einschalten ziemlich runter, was aber mit dem prägnanten Volume- Poti des Treters schnell anzugleichen ist. Dennoch ziehe ich da nen Stern ab, denn da gibts Pedale die das besser hinbekommen. Ist aber letztenendes kein kritisches Kriterium, da regelbar. Über den Depth- Regler lässt sich vom leichten Swell, bis zum Stakkato- mässigen "on-off-on-off"- Effekt alles regeln. Über den Rate- Regler kann man das ganze dann auch im Timing noch anpassen.
Die Verarbeitung ist völlig i.O. für ne Tretmine dieser Preisklasse. Da gibt es Hersteller, die sich da deutlich mehr gehen lassen.
Schlussendlich macht dieses Pedal genau EINE Sache, aber die eben überzeugend und ohne das Geldsäckel dabei übermässig zu beanspruchen. Ausserdem ist das Pedal mit den minimalen Maßen problemlos auch auf kleineren pedalboards flux untergebracht. Wer eine solche einfache Lösung bzgl. Tremoloeffekten sucht, dem sei dieses Pedal zum Antesten unbedingt empfohlen.
