Traveler Guitar Escape MK-III Steel Mahagony

Hi, I bought this guitar to lighten the load of my gear for small restaurant gigs. The sound is exactly like the samples. A few words about the preamp: it sounds much better than the one in my Alvarez. With the Alvarez, I need a Boss AD-2 to make the piezo sound more natural, but I don't need to plug the AD-2 in with this guitar. I often play with a very percussive style, and that’s another plus here—the pickup responds really well, and the sound is great. The neck dimensions are standard, so playability is excellent. The action could perhaps be a bit lower, but I can play solos with string bends without any issues. The guitar sounds great all along the neck. It stays in tune even after a heavy playing session, which is rare. It’s hard to believe this guitar sounds better than many higher-end piezo-equipped models. Are there any downsides? You have to get used to playing such a small, lightweight instrument. The manufacturer seems to have designed it primarily for chord work, so the lack of a forearm contour makes playing solos a bit annoying.
