Premium price for premim quality
Yes Triad-Orbit stuff is expensive. It is really high priced. For that you get premium stands that will not budge, are very smooth and reliable. I used them to mount streaming camera's and do classical recordings where the stand must not move a mm. I also have a bunch of German stands and they are good. but when it needs to be perfect and strong, or when the floor is uneven, I take the Triad-Orbit.

Sits nice and tight when in place. I have a lot laying around and it gets used all the time, perfect for dums.
