Vandoren ZZ Alto Saxophone 2.5

I use this with a V5 A55 mouthpiece; I must say that I like better using the 2, but 2.5 is fine. The reed has a good performance with my yamaha C4 mouthpiece.

I tried all the most common Rico and Vandoren reeds, in different strengths until I found the setup that suited me best and the Vandoren ZZs were the ones I chose. They have a good solid low end and are not too bright in the higher register. They certainly give me the best jazz tone I am capable of producing.

Consistency is not good. The first 4 out of the box all sounded different, some hard to blow, some thin sounding and some fantastic. Maybe they will settle down when they have been played in.

Vandoren reeds are top notch. you pay for the quality you get

Depends on what mouthpiece you’ve got, but anyways it has got a nice and warm tone, can never go wrong with vandoren reeds
