Works great as a hair light, but I advise getting the 45degres grid for that purpose. It's strong enough for studio shots, not strong enough if you want to use it outside obviously.

Good light, but inconsistent build quality

Great light output in this tube for the price.
However, the locking mechanism that connects the battery grip to the tube itself has some play in it, Could be a manufacturing error with the particular units I recieved, as this is not the case with the t4cs I own.
Also, one of the two battery grips I recieved has a shorter cable than the other, not ideal but still just long enough t power the tube.

Minor manufacturing errors that don't bother me too much..
Still a great light!

Aputure/Amaran all the way

Long story short: If you're looking for a quality tube light, quality built, quality light quality and tons of features, easily accessible without any fumbling, look no further. I wouldn't go for anything less than Amaran when it comes to proper lighting.
Also don't let the small size fool you. This thing is BRIGHT!

Es mangelt ja in diesen Tagen nicht an LED Herstellern. Aber bei keinem ist die Integration in eine App Steuerung so gelungen, wie bei Aputure / Amaran. Am Ende sind die Lighsticks in dieser Preisklasse alle ganz ähnlich. Aber wenn du als one man band unterwegs bist, ist die Sidus Link App eben der entscheidende Unterschied: steuere einfach alle Aputure Lights inklusive Speicherung von Szenen und Presets direkt aus einem zentralen Ort. Dazu noch einen 32bit recorder wie dem Zoom F3 und du brauchst für fast alles keine Crew mehr. Kaufen.
