Canopus Speed Star Bearing DW

I bought this Japanese Canopus Speed ​​SS-5000 bearing for a single foot with a single chain DW 5000AH. Before installation, the foot control was much worse, now it is completely different, softer, smoother and faster, for all those who are wondering whether it is worth it, I say that it is worth it, although it is not cheap, but very effective. The foot has a buttery feeling as in the DW9000, except that the mechanics of DW5000 I recommend it with a clear conscience, this product is worth every €uro.Thanks Canopus and Thomann for this pedal upgrade here in Europe.

I didn't buy this to increase the speed of my DW 5000 single pedal. I bought it because the Canopus angled crank bolt, in my opinion, is better than the stock DW one on the spring assembly. The stock crank bolt has the spring connect to the rocker hub at an angle, which I think could've contributed to my pedal wearing down faster than it usually would. So, I bought the speed star made for DW 5000s and I found that the stock spring on my pedal didn't work with the speed star bearing. The hooks on either end of the spring need to line up straight otherwise it will not work. I bought my 5000 back in 2006 or 2007 so maybe those models had a different spring and newer models use a different design. It was easy enough to get a replacement spring and I can tell you that the DW SM-020 factory part works. However, it would've been nice of Canopus to have written this information on the packaging or somewhere in the online product description. This is the reason why I've given this a total rating of four stars. They need to be more specific. I haven't had a chance to put it through the motions so the overall quality remains to be seen. So far it seems very solid and plays smoothly.

Je possède une double-pédale DW7000 dont je suis très content.
Les roulements à billes d'origines commençaient à faire la grimace ce qui m'a motivé à les changer.
N'ayant trouvé sur Thomann que des roulements DW à ressort à petit prix et voulant rester sur la finesse des roulements à bille je me suis laissé tenter par les Speed Star.
En un mot : un délice. Tous les paramètres importants dans le bonne exécution du jeu au pied sont accrus avec une fluidité notoire.
Réactivité de la pédale au top, mouvement de balancier et rebond démultiplié ; souplesse dans l'action de la pédale.
Certes le prix est assez lourd surtout si vous devez équiper une double pédale mais l'investissement financier ne sera pas vain. Je suis pleinement satisfait de mon achat.
