Daddario EXL110-3D

When I stared playing in the '90s I used Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys. The tone was ok, but they rusted up quickly, and were always breaking. I thought that was just what happened to guitar strings. About 6 years ago I bought a new Fender AVRI '65 Reissue from Thomann. It had Fender stings on, and I was surprised how nice they were compared to the Ernie Balls. So I moved onto Fender 250's. They didn't rust, but still broke once in a while.

Then a few years ago I watched a Greg Koch vid and he said he used D'Addario XL's, because they didn't break. So I tried a set. He's right, they don't. They're easy to bend, don't rust and don't break. If they'll do for the Gristlemaster, they'll do for me (and you).

I recommend these stings

I keep these in heavy rotation because they offer a familiar, predictable feel on my ES-335. When freshly strung, they provide a snappy, percussive attack that brings out the best in my sound. The value of the 3-pack is undeniable, ensuring I always have a backup set in my gig bag for a quick string change before a session or rehearsal.
You rarely, if ever, find a dead string or a manufacturing defect in a D'Addario pack. The color-coded ball ends and sealed inner bag keep the strings fresh and easy to identify. The .010 gauge offers enough resistance for stable tuning while remaining easy to bend.
Compared to coated alternatives, these lose their new string elasticity and feel relatively quickly. The brilliant high-end tends to fade after just a few days of playing.
The D'Addario EXL110s are the ultimate workhorse string. They sound fantastic right out of the package and offer a highly reliable playing experience. However, the trade-off for that classic uncoated feel is longevity. The pristine top-end clarity disappears a bit too quickly for my liking, requiring more frequent changes to maintain that signature bite.
