A warning for dingwall owners

The B string is not tapered. The problem is that if you take NYXL45130SL 5-string set, then 5 string simply does not fit into NG/Combustion bridge. Take a set of Daddario NYXL45100SL instead and in addition to it purchase a separate string NYXLB130TSL. T letter is important. It means that the string is tapered at the bridge side and can fit into it.
Soundwise nothing special. I get used to Dingwall Stainless steal strings, so these sound a bit warmer and less agresive in highs. Unfortunately, I cannot compare them with the original dingwall nickel strings, but based on my memories it sounds similar. Will see how long they can last.

I exclusively use these strings on all my basses. Primarily, I play an Ibanez EHB 5-string, and I’ve found these strings to offer the most exceptional feel and playability of any I’ve tried so far. Very good sound, last long

This strings sound very good and the feeling is good. They last very long, but not long as elixir or few similar brands with coated strings

J'ai plus de 20 guitares, 5,4,6 cordes.
Sortant de plusieurs années d'Elixir, jeux 4 et 5, j'ai voulu tester ce nouveau jeux.
La basse 5 cordes en question est un "Tune" Japonaise.
Les mécaniques sont basées sur système "Kluson" c'est à dire un trou vertical dans la cabestan de la mécanique.
- Je mets en place le Si grave, tourne et là très rapidement le filet s’éfiloche, et casse !
- Les autres sont placées sans problèmes.
- J'étudie l'âme et le filet, et j'en déduit que cette nouvelle âme & son filet sont plus dures et par conséquence moins souple (pliable).
Je retourne l'info à Thomann, et demande une corde de Si en remplacement, mais si c'est pareil ....
