Great all rounder!

I wanted a snare head that would be great on Rock/Pop/Fusion and Jazz -
and was pleased to find that this single ply head from Evans (on my DW 13x5 Aluminium Snare) really fits the bill.
I very rarely had to use any damping when recording and most importantly it was so easy to tune
Highly tempted to try the 14'' version for the other snares in the studio

I used this on my 13" brass Pearl Piccolo snare as I play a lot of percussion orchestral arrangements.
I used this for a concert and the sound was amazing! Such crisp, dry attack, with few overtones, and a warm bite. If you like a more marching snare kind of sound then this is a must have for you.
I will definitely be using this model for my other snares too, as the sound is so phat and beautiful, that I would love to use it on my 14"x9.5" snare, and really open it up!
A great drum head, at a very fair price!
A must have for drummers who play many varied styles of music.

Dry it is!

I look for dry in my 13x3 piccolo snare. That's what i have a 13x3 piccolo snare for. The air holes in this head (explains Evans' user manual) make for a very short sustain. Well, i can tell you, it works. Evans didn't say one word too much.

I´m really enthusiastic about his head

This head is a real dry head, since it is called Genera dry it should be dry.
The chart on the website is showing mostly the truth, in my Opinion.
Lot´s of attack and not a short sustain.
I don´t now for sure what he chart wants to show at tone: I think it´s bright or dark, (the more bars there are, the brighter s the sound), because my snare is now a little bit darker than before.
I can not say anything about the Durability yet, but I think the head will go on for a long, time I feel it :)
