Everyone that ever used anything by Gibraltar can probably say that this hardware can stand up to quite the beating. Forget cymbals and toms - you can mount a raging orc using this multi clamp and feel pretty sure it will stay in place.*
Pros - virtually indestructible. Will hold anything in place.
Cons - on the heavy side, but hey, quality requires some weight.
* Mounting orcs off drum racks is inhumane and frowned upon in most circles. Try at your own risk.
I don´t really need to mention it but I do it: The shipping was as fast as usually.
The packaging was a little bit hard to remove, but I´m already familiar with this sort of packaging of gibraltar.
But now to the product: The workmanship of this the heavy duty multi clamp is well done.
With the C-clamps it´s easy to put those clamps on an already mounted bar.
You don´t need to screw the bolts extremely and damaging your fingers at the same time.
It holds also with having screwed the bolts normally.
The difference between this clamp and the SC-GCRMC is, the super multi clamp (this one) can hold a Double tom arm with 2 mounted floor Toms or just big Tom-toms (secured with 2 memory Locks) I don´t think of the SC-GCRMC to do the same.
I´m using 2 of the super multi clapms now, and I´ll buy 3 others.
Oh I think the clamps could be a little bit cheaper, but the price is quite well compared to other brands (dw)
Love my Gibraltar rack. Yes they can be heavy and it looks like your moving house when you turn up with it all bagged up - but i wouldn't go back to separate stands for full kit setup. I went to town on memory locking everything and in 15mins I can have a 7 pc kit with 6 cymbals set back up exactly as I previously played it. I think they'll always divide the drumming community but I'm a convert if I'm taking my full kit out it will always be my racked setup. If I only need a small set up, i'll just leave my whole rack set up at home and take a few stands and the bits i need. Recommend - memory lock everything! This connector is the beast you need for heavy cymbals or anything with long boom / pole - and memory lock it!
