I was expecting them to work, but I was surprised at the improvement in tuning stability. I was really able to give the tremolo bar an absurd amount of abuse and the strings were perfectly in tune. Small investment, big payoff. Easy to install if you have existing holes. Drilling a new hole is not particularly difficult, but drilling into a clean headstock requires a threshold of confidence.

Be aware that if you're replacing a tree installed by Fender, their screw hole may be off-center. Then what are you going to do? Even though I got mine installed without incident, I still hear that tinkling sound, just like the OEM tree that came with the guitar. If I had to comment on improved tuning stability it would be positive. My guitar is setup perfectly and typically stays in tune. When I checked the tuning this morning it was only off by a few cents. Aggressive use of the vibrato has little effect on tuning. Overall, these trees do what they're supposed to do, which is to keep the strings in their nut slot. The most significant improvement is in appearance. They look far better than stock.
