The guitar is really nice, the one I got comes in at 3.1kg which is quite light and its not too small either. Upon arrival it was good to play, no bad frets, fret sprout and such.
The pickup switching isnt too practical but it is a really cool idea and makes the guitar unique so I like that better. All components seem quality, the only upgrade I can see being semi necessary is a roller bridge cause the break angle and dumb knife edge design of the bridge makes strings break on just mere sight of it.
Sound is nice, surfy and high pitched.
Overall it plays well, sounds good and is built well, totally worth it

Such a bargain, and a joy to play

At almost half the full listed price, this guitar was such a bargain that I had to treat myself – and I'm so glad I did. It looks gorgeous, with a translucent orange lacquer that reveals the grain of the wood beneath.
The pickups are sensational – three contrasting, responsive voices that can be mix-and-matched with the rocker switches. They're unconventional but feel reliably solid, and are much less prone to being accidentally knocked than a toggle or a switchblade.
The electronics are absolutely excellent too, with a wide range from bright to husky on the tone pot.
The neck is comfortable, and the action was set so well that I haven't had to do anything except replace the strings and give the frets a rub.
It's a joy to play. I love it.

Nice Nice Nice

Ich suchte eine Gitarre mit Singlecoils, Offset-Korpus, ohne Tremolo und orange (!) sollte sie sein (und möglichst keine Fender). Als die Surfliner Anfang Juni erschien, war klar, das wird meine :)
Ich will gar nicht über den Sound referieren, das will ich denen überlassen, die mehr Erfahrung haben. Mir gefällt er jedenfalls.
Die Verarbeitung ist makellos, bis auf eine kleine Verfärbung im Griffbrett. Die Saitenlage war bereits gut eingestellt, nur die 011er Saiten waren mir zu dick und habe sie gegen 009er Pyramid getauscht. Die Tuner sind gut und stimmstabil.
Schade das die Gitarre hier im Shop mit so wenig Fotos dokumentiert ist denn sie ist wirklich eine kleine Schönheit.

Tolle Allrounder Gitarre. Das Lackfinish ist exzellent. Die übrige Verarbeitung ist solide. Der Sound ist vielfältig. Wer den Twang der Telecaster mag aber auch das „Blubb“ einer Stratocaster findet hier den richtigen Einstieg. Natürlich nicht in der Soundintensität wie beim Konkurrent aber durchaus ähnlich.
Die Bespielbarkeit ist toll. Die Bünde sind fein abgerundet. Keine scharfen Kanten. Die Tross ruds sind stimmsicher.
Lieferung wie immer: bester Thomann Standard
