I am surprised by the looks of these pins. The website pictures do not do them much justice. They are very well polished and the Abalone Eye is just amazing on each one of them.
The click they make when you play with them is very pleasant.
They all needed proper fitting, but it was an easy task, with some 280 and 400 grit sandpaper. They look great on my Fender Paramount PM-1 Standard.
Overall, very good quality and consistency across all 6 pins.
I have a Gibson J-185 and wanted to replace the plastic ones by some nicer ones.
What I realized was that they didn't fit perfectly on the pin holes, what might cause the pins to pop out when you are applying tension on the string during the first steps of tuning.
The other point that bothered me a bit at the beginning was that the hight of the pins were higher than the original ones. When I placed my hand to rest on the top of the pins I could feel a huge difference. That does not bother me any more, I got used to that.
Thomann's services were great as allways.
The product on the other hand not so great.
The color (for some is important) is snowy white.
The material seems to be fragile. 3 pins from both sets Thomann send chipped/broke under the presure of the ball end and 2 of them were already slightly chipped.
The size is large for most guitars and because of the material I suggest you avoid sanding down the pins so the option you have is to adjust the bridge holes (don't).
