Good as a start, viable for long run
This guitar being the cheapest 8 string I could find shows that it is from the lower price range in many places. However truth be told, with enough tinkering, mixing and some string gauge shenanigans You can turn this basic 8 string Into something that will easily handle D octave and even C octave. If You're really sick like me You might even get down to B and A Octave. Affordable and good for beginning with lower tunings.
