I own a lot of different speakers and this model is one of those I love the most, there is something magical about it other speakers don’t have. It’s has powerful and fast bass response, lots of punch, and clarity and sparkles on the highs (which sometimes needs taming). There is also some strange kind of sweetness in the high mids. Plenty of headroom and slightly throaty overdrive. This speaker has a very similarly voiced neodymium variant — Jensen Tornado 80 (80 specifically, because Tornado 60 is voiced after Nighthawk, Tornado 100 and Tornado 100SE are their own completely different things), they sound and respond slightly differently, but still are in the very same ballpark. It is a very cool combination to put Jensen Electric Lightning 70W and Jensen Tornado 80W into a 2x12 box. Very good for low-tuned stuff and chugging, it keeps low end together and powerful. Good for sounding big and powerful.
By the way, Jensen Electric Lightning 12'' and Jensen Nighthawk 12'' is a favorite Kristian Kohle’s Jensen speaker combination. You can find his videos demoing it.
P.S. Note that Thomann for some reason does not offer Tornado 80W, only Tornado 100W (which is a completely different beast). So you would have too look for it elsewhere. Also note that Thomann product page calls this speaker “Lightning" while it’s official name is “Electric Lightning” or model number: JC12-70EL. Also note that nowadays the back sticker for Jensen speakers is different, not monochrome as on the photo, that is old variant.
