Great offering from LP

I've bought two variants offered by LP, the blue and the red one (medium and loud) and am satisfied with both.

The sound is warm and the built is solid and durable. I've broken quite a few shakers before (from other brands and also other models from LP) but this model seems to be able to withstand a lot of abuse :)

Recently I realized that both variants could be combined together to produce a unique tone - a combination of both loud and medium.

I've experience using the yellow variant which is the soft shake, and the blue variant is still my preference. Yet contemplating to buy the yellow soft shake too to complete the whole red-blue-yellow set.

Definitely my recommended model of shaker from LP for their great sound and solid built and durability.

I had had the soft shaker but needed more projection so bought a medium pair as well. These do project more but sound a bit harsher, which is more apparent at slow tempos, so I usually join them with the soft ones to even that out with some extra texture. Rather than twisting 2 halves together though, I like to join 2 pairs - one above the other - with 2 rubber bands. The rubber bands (a wider type) fit perfectly in the gap between the black centre and the coloured parts.
The shape and material of the shaker also allows for crashing a cymbal occasionally (that's something I wouldn't do with a metal shaker or an egg shaker that's too small for the purpose).
