Meinl TMGS-2 Gong/TamTam Stand

It's all great, almost perfect, I added wheels and it's even better, but still, during louder parts with a gong like 38" that stand has a lot of visible work to do - to keep gong steady, so there are moments when it makes some sounds and shakes a bit. It's good to tighten screws from time to time. Difficult to travel with, you can disconnect some parts but it's a heavy stand anyway, very heavy and steady.

The Meinl TMGS-2 Gong stand offers incredible strength and durability. Made in heavy gauge steel tubing the stand is beautifully finished in a durable matt black powder coat. The centre shaft is supplied in two sections, the upper section sliding into the lower, this allows for an easy height adjustment. A quick release locking mechanism makes for a smooth adjustment action and an additional locking screw provides final security. The base of the stand is incredibly sturdy and the double-bar design makes the stand almost impossible to knock over. There are 4 adjustable screw-in feet making it easy to level the stand on uneven ground. The hooks are spiral design and come with a protective PVC covering, which also adds more protection against vibration. The installation is straight forward, perhaps the instructions could be made simpler but anyone with some sense can work it out. I totally recommend this stand as well as the optional accessory TMGS -2G that allows you to double-up your gongs. Great quality at a reasonable price!
