I’m not a fan of active DI boxes. They always need +48V, and on stage that can mean one more thing to check or troubleshoot. A passive DI, on the other hand, just works — and the Millenium DI-E is exactly that kind of box. At the end of the day, a DI is basically a transformer that galvanically isolates two sides of the signal, and this one does it perfectly.
Despite being inexpensive, it’s solid, clean and dependable. No noise issues, no surprises, no drama. It’s the kind of DI you throw into a gig bag and forget about — until you need it, and then it behaves flawlessly. A perfect little “audio voodoo” box!
