Mooer F40i Li Model. Guitar Combo PB

I got it for home practice and quiet band rehearsal, not expecting much since online it got some hate for having bad sound quality and meh presets. While that might have been true when the amp was first launched, I saw that Mooer made a software update for it and from what I've seen botn with my model and online they really fixed everything that was to fix.
The sound quality was its main issue from what I read online, but in recent reviews and also when I play on it irl it sounds amazing, somewhere around positive grid spark level or even better, not to mention it has IR loading which makes it sound amazing compared to anything else I tested at local shops(which were amps under my 400 euro budget, but still). It also keeps sound quality really well at both very low and very high volumes and from what I tested with mine it can reach ~105db with no issue and possibly even higher if you tweak it from the app.
The other thing it got bad rep for was the presets it came with, which to be honest is not that big of a deal considering how much tweaking it allows you to do to get amazing tone, but honestly even those presets that come with it are pretty pleasant to play on and I don't really see why this amp whould get any more hate on that.
Now for things that aren't really spoken about online but i think should be mentioned:
The amount of customizability you get for your tone is insane. It has way more effects than spark and from a larger variety. It also lets you configure the order the effect chain which seems like another way to make sure you get your tone right. The naming of the effects in the app was a bit difficult to understand for me, but once you get used to it its no biggie, and for the 80 presets slots you can save and edit it lets you experiment enough to figure them out fast.
Some effects i really like on it are the octaver that lets you add a lower or higher octave to your tone and you can make it sound like you have a pad doubling your guitar. You also get some fun effects like a "glitchy" distorsion for retro video game sfx.
The only issue i have with the effects is that i thought the octaver would let me transpose the notes i play on guitar so it would sound like a bass, and it sort of does that but it also has some latency which is hard to get used with and even after you get used to it, it gets annoying to play with.

Now to the Mooer AI function, which is one of the things that really gets it competitive with spark:
It doesn't assist you that much with tweaking since unlike spark, it doesn't tell you what effects it can add to you tone and how each impacts it, but it still gives you three options to try for each propmt you give it so you usually find the tone you like. When asking for an exact tone to make from scratch the Mooer AI is, in my opinion, slightly better than spark since it gets much closer to the tone of certain songs when you ask for it, but this is still somthing of personal preference so my opinion might not be the same as other buyers.
Another fact i find really nice about it is the battery. It is listed at a runtime of 4-5h, but using it it seems to last more than that. While playing guitar on it at moderate volume(so about 30% since I live in a flat and more than that is loud enough to get to neighbours) it got to about 6h and if i use it as a bluetooth speaker(since it has that option too) i barely drained 10% of its bettery for a over 2h long movie(Matrix), so maybe the 4-5h listed runtime is estimated for more intense usage- higher volume and not just bluetooth playback which drains the battery much slower than playing on guitar.

In conclusion I'm very sattisfied with my purchase and reccomend this amp to anyone who wants a lot of features for an accessible price. Really, for sub 400 euro, i dont think there's anything that beats it as a whole.

Ich jamme oft in einem Proberaum mit anderen und brauchte einen mobilen, bezahlbaren Lautsprecher, den ich gut transportieren kann. Der F40i Li ist das und noch viel mehr.

Die Gitarrenamps klingen für meine Ohren ausreichend gut. Die KI-Töne aus der App sind oft unbrauchbar bzw. benötigen manuelle Justierung.

Die Tonqualität als BT-Lautsprecher ist umwerfend. Ich höre sogar das Stereobild meiner Songs und sehe wenig Unterschiede zu meinen Monitorboxen.

Der Looper macht richtig viel Spaß, hat aber auch die Einschränkungen, dass man ihn über die App oder die externe F4-Fußleiste steuern muss. Ich denke für Spielereien ist er gut, aber man kann keine einzelnen, aufgenommenen Parts im Looper löschen. Für einen improvisierten Song mit Strophe und Refrain, reicht es gerade so mit den 60 Sekunden. Es ist keine Loopstation. Hier tritt aber auch ein Problem auf. Wenn ich 4 oder mehr Loops im Looper laufen habe, entstehen Störgeräusche und Tonaussetzer.

Auch für externe Mikrofone ist die Box gut geeignet. Ich bin mit der Verstärkung meines Amsteckmikrofons und meines dynamischen Mikrofons Audix OM7.

Ich habe die F4 Fußleiste dazu gekauft und denke, die ist für Besitzer dieser Box ein Must-have.

Fazit: Eine beeindruckende Allroundlösung für Musiker mit wenig Geld.

Der F40i Li ist ein sehr guter Desktop Amp. Der Sound überzeugt und reicht - im Gegensatz zum kleinen Bruder F15i Li - auch in einer lauteten Umgebung vollkommen aus. Die Verarbeitung ist makellos und erscheint wertig. Endlich mal ein Amp, bei dem man die ab Werk gespeicherten Presets gut gebrauchen kann (ggf. noch etwas anpassen). Die eingebauten Effekte sind größtenteils gut bis sehr gut. Bei einigen vermisst man ein paar Regelmöglichkeiten. Die Akkulaufzeit ist sehr gut und der Ladevorgang geht schnell vonstatten.Der F40i ist wesentlich größer als der F15i und natürlich auch schwerer. Der Sound ist aber auch wesentlich erwachsener. Wer den Platz auf dem Tisch hat und die 90€ Mehrpreis bereit ist auszugeben, dem empfehle ich den F40i zu nehmen. Was in der Beschreibung fehlt: unten sind 2 Klappfüße vorhanden die als tilt back genutzt werden können.
Für mich der Beste Desktop Amp!

Le Mooer F40 est compact, sobre mais fait quand même plastique made in China. La technologie offre des avantages, certes (sur batterie donc pas besoin d'alimentation externe, complet (effets, looper, boîte à rythmes...)).

Les sons de base restent en revanche médiocres et il faut creuser et faire ses propres sets (comme 99% des multi-effets par exemple).

Le looper est qualitatif.

Il faudra cependant un smartphone pour utiliser l'ampli avec un meilleur potentiel.

Pour avoir eu deux Yamaha THR10X et un Yamaha THR30IIW, à choisir, concernant le rapport qualité/prix, je partirai sur le Mooer pour les raisons situées au-dessus. Mais je l'ai revendu depuis pour tenter avec le nux mg50Li
