Disappointment

Tricked and Cheated 30.07.2025

For a start, what you get is NOT what is in the Picture. It has a very cheap ribbon cable connection to the switch. it does NOT have vintage cloth wires as shown on photo. The Input Jack does NOT have cloth covers wires. it is Not a Plus Harness ..It is a BIG Minus. Update the photo now that you have downgraded the build quality. Very Disapointing. Save Your Money. I'd give less than one start but it's not an option. €50 would be too much.

Makes wiring up so easy and first class support from ObsidianWire

If you want to rebuild your perfect guitar, this is the kit for you. Perfect fit, amazingly straightforward wiring and great sound. Onboard selectable treble bleed works perfectly. Had a small problem with the switch and ObsidianWire replaced it no questions asked. Already have another one on order for another guitar, buy one, you won't regret it!

Das Obsidian Wire ist ähnlich aufgebaut wie die Mojotones aber auf einer festen Platine verlötet. Bei beiden Herstellern besteht das Risiko, dass die Apparatur nicht in die Ausfräsungen des Gitarrenbodys passt. Das kann man vorher schlecht abschätzen und muss es drauf ankommen lassen. der No-Name Stratbody einer günstigen Partcaster war so ein Fall. Verlötet mit Minipotis kein Problem. Aber da ich andere Pickups wollte und ich des Lötens nicht mächtig bin, anstatt des Mojotones das hier probiert. Es scheiterte am unteren Poti (zu groß) und der Plastikplatte wo alles verlötet ist. Also aufs Ganze gegangen und mit Hobbyfräser Platz und es passend gemacht. Der Gitarrenbauer des Vertrauens hat ewig keine Zeit für sowas also muss man es selber machen. Hauptsache das Schlagbrett verdeckt nachher den Murks den man angerichtet hat. Aber die Funktionen sind einwandfrei. Man kann beiden Herstellern nur danken Alternativen zum Löten zu schaffen.
