Nice and shiny, but not perfect

The quality of manufacture leaves nothing to be desired visually. The gold is very gold and shiny and the abalone tops are stunning.

However, I have an issue with them that was a deal breaker.

They are constructed such that they tend to sit very high off the surface of the guitar, because the skirt around the base is simply not high enough to allow the nut and washer of the pot to be hidden up inside the base of the knob. This is even worse if you use push/push or push/pull potentiometers, with an air gap of 4-5mm BEFORE being pushed or pulled into their UP position.

I bought a new Ibanez bass with beautiful gold trim but the volume blender pots were just bad black plastic. But it , as I said, had gold metal work and abalone inlays on the neck. so I had to get these. I like them very much. My wife thinks I ought to grow up. But my bass loves me more

I bought this as supplement to the bigger Dome Potiknobs in the same Abalone finish, for the tone on my Jazz bass. It's gorgeous and seems like good quality.

I wanted to add a touch of class to my Ibanez SR805 bass guitar in Amber color. The tuning pegs and bridge are gold and the fret markings are abalone, but the knobs were black plastic and rather cheap appearing. These mini knobs were the perfect upgrade for the three smaller knobs to blend in and enhance the appearance!
