Great sounding head

For a drummer that does 100+ shows a year its important to find the right head for the snare. I've only ever used Remo Heads and have tried all of their range of coated heads. And when i came to use this head. It worked. Great sounding head, VERY durable. And with the pinstriped edge, it disciplines all those nasty rings and overtones. Highly recommended.

My first heads were pinstripes! Some 35 years ago... What I really like about them is that they tune easy, sound fat and warm and they are extra durable. Coating is a plus and sound bit darker to my ears. After lot of Evans G2s, Emperors and what not I am finaly home! Must have

Coating - enttäuschende Haltbarkeit!

Ich habe das Fell als Ersatz für ein REMO Pinstripe Coated aus dem Jahr 2003 oder 2004 gekauft (die Snare habe ich länger nicht benutzt...). Im Vergleich ist die Haltbarkeit des neuen Fells unter aller Sau!

Wie lange das Fell damals bespielt war kann ich nicht genau sagen, aber jetzt habe ich es seit Januar 2011 ganz gut verdroschen! Bei dem alten Fell hat sich jetzt vor Kurzem an einer winzigen Stelle das Coating abgespielt, sodass es transparent wurde. Am Sweetspot war es natürlich schon länger nicht mehr rau, aber immerhin beschichtet.

Beim neuen Fell ist nun nach rund einer Stunde normalen Spiels mit Vic Firth SD1 Generals der komplette Sweetspot blank und transparent! Das Coating ist nicht ansatzweise so dick wie früher und von Haltbarkeit kann keine Rede sein...

Fazit: Nach langjähriger REMO-Treue auf der Snare, werde ich jetzt wohl oder übel mit anderen Herstellern experimentieren!
