Standtastic 100TK Keyboard Holder

A great concept, but unfortunately, less-than-ideal execution. The devil is in the details.

Note: these recommendations apply to the entire Standtastic Wall Mount system, which includes the purchase of a set of VF-1 rails and 100TK brackets.

The VF-1 rails, to which the dedicated 100TK bracket is attached, are sturdy but lack any scale, whether in inches or centimeters. Therefore, mounting the brackets on them is done by eye and with a laser level. Attaching the rails to the wall requires purchasing the appropriate wall plugs, as the set only comes with M10 screws, and the instructions completely ignore assembly.

Of several 100TK sets I ordered, one had warped mounting screws, and I had to drill out and replace them. The latches that hold the keyboard on the three elements were also slightly bent, so I had to straighten them a bit.

The 100TK mount is solid and heavy (as are the rails), but tightening it with an Allen key makes me a little uneasy, so I'm not sure if I'll need to drill holes in the rails.

Honestly, I haven't seen many reviews of this setup online; the most popular alternative is the slat wall system.

Do I regret buying it? We'll see if the system stands the test of time, along with the synthesizers I've hung on it.

The price-to-quality ratio is my assessment. It's not a bad product. But...

These holders are made like a tank - it should hold up a house - however I have to be honest - the anchor screws are designed as it tells you in the instructions to fit into studs and are too long and too big for available raw plugs - - I imagine wooden studs would be ideal - I have single brick walls and the weight of these holders and the weight of my synth would be far too much for simple screws and raw plugs - and as my synth is heavy and expensive I couldn't risk using them for my original intention - maybe they would be better having four or even five holes for screws - although that would probably undermine their strength and robustness - I reckon you couldn't buy a better bit of kit if you had stud walls - - - or - - - your keyboards were relatively light in weight - as a product I would give them 10 out of 10 - given all other factors
