This is my first gong. From my experience as a music producer, I would say that it is a good gong for beginners. A good introduction to help you get an idea of what a gong sounds and feels like. It sounds impressive and feels good to stand in front of it and receive the vibrations it produces. Despite its size, it produces a clear and strong fundamental frequency, as well as a rich spectrum of shimmering sounds and harmonics that are ideal for sound design.
I bought it out of curiosity and just to make a small gift to myself, I never had a strong desire to play the gong, but after playing with it from time to time, it finally inspired me to embark on my gong journey, and I have just ordered my first 75 cm wind gong! So I guess that an instrument which inspires you to continue your musical journey and encourages you to explore sound more deeply is a good instrument!
If there's one think I do not like is the logo. I would prefer it to be empty. Just the raw metal. But I can live with it.
Ps. A variety of mallets is very very important. The mallet it comes with is not that great (not bad either).
