Yamaha CG-TA NT Transacoustic

As a classical guitarist, I normally would not go for a "amplified/processed" sound. But I was so intrigued by this guitar that I had to try it out. Basically the reason I bought it was so that I have a different "setting" I can play in... instead of my dead sounding living room. Now I can sound like im in, for example, a concert hall or a cathedral. Compositions like Bach's prelude Lute suite Nr 4 for example do translate very well with more reverb

I have had the Yamaha CG TA for about 1 week now... so here my review upto now

The guitar itself is well made for the price... no strange or incorrect build. This is a great feature by Yamaha guitars. Could the quality of the guitar be better? yes... But yamaha decided to use this guitar and I can understand. Its very well playable and the action is not bad at all

Switching the Trans-acoustic reverb ON to 40% hall... you notice a increase in volume and you livingroom transforms into a concert all. And NO CABLES/amp/connected effect required. The higher tones have quite a clear and well dispersed quality to the reverb. Low end notes a bit sticky/muddy if too much reverb (I havent changed the strings yet... so this maybe the issue). I dont use the chorus but the sound is under control. The room reverb is much shorter in length (maybe 1.5 sec) and provides a decent atmosphere to groovier compositions

The experience playing my repetoire with this guitar now is quite different than the playing the unamplified guitars. This breathes new life into creativity and motivation. I allowed myself 2 weeks to decide if im going to return it but I pretty sure I will keep it!

40 Jahre spielte ich ein Admira "Belinda", jetzt habe ich mich neu verliebt. Ich hatte Bedenken, dass ich für diesen Preis eher eine mittelklassige Gitarre erstehe, die allein durch das technische Gimmick aufgewertet sei.
Doch welch freudige Überraschung!
Die Yamaha CG-TA NT Transacoustic überzeugte mich durch ihren klaren, vollen Klang und die ausgezeichnete Verarbeitung. Nächtelang spiele ich seitdem auf ihr Phantasien, ohne auch nur daran zu denken, die Effekte zuzuschalten. Und doch, die Effekte machen, dezent eingesetzt, das Spiel zum Erlebnis. Dreht man zu weit auf, kommt es vor allem bei lebhaftem Spiel zu Rückkopplungen. Diese hallen eine Weile nach, ohne wirklich zu stören.

Danke schön auch an das Team Thomann, das die Gitarre auf meinen Wunsch hin vor Auslieferung auf Herz und Nieren geprüft hatte. So halte ich jetzt ein ausgezeichnetes Instrument in Händen, das ich nicht wieder hergeben werde.
