Yamaha TRBX 305 CAR

This bass was bought for home recording and it looks, sounds and plays very good. (I am a guitarist so take that with a pinch of salt). I use it for low tuned modern metal music and in B standard (its default tuning) its very good. My 1 issue was when going to dropped A tuning the 1st (heaviest) string sounds too dead and for me not usable in that tuning. However... I think this would easily be fixed with a tweak to the set up? or a different string gauge, which I plan to try.

In general its a very good bass and im very happy with it

I needed a 5 string bass in my repertoire so when I saw this Yamaha in red I had to have it. It is a beautiful bass, worthy of showing off - it's on the wall in my living room where it gets praises from guests.

It is a long scale 5 string so it is pretty difficult to play compared to a 4 string short scale. It is worth the effort and the extra string comes in handy.

It was well set up out of the box and free from blemishes and imperfections. The strings are high quality as are the knobs and electronics. The active pickups along with the tone switch allow for diverse playing styles.

I highly recommend this bass. It is flawless.

Ich spiel seit 39 Jahren Bass, zugegeben in den letzten Jahren weniger.
Ich hab immer Fender Jazz-Bass gespielt, aber auch mal Rickenbacker 335, Ibanez Roadster und sonstige zur Probe.
Ich wollte jetzt endlich mal einen 5-Saiter. Nur mal so zum testen.
Und ich muss sagen, das was Yamaha liefert ist echt klasse. Absolut präzise Verarbeitung!!!
Nach dem ersten Stimmen hab ich mal getestet auf Bundreinheit, wie der Hals eingestellt ist und wie die Saitenlage so ist.
Paßt. Keine Nachjustierung nötig, einfach losspielen.
Dann dachte ich, daß er viel breiter sein muss (irgendwo muss die zusätzliche Saite ja hin). Aber, er liegt verhältnismäßig eng und ist damit leicht zu spielen.

Jetzt zum Sound.
Das was beschrieben wurde mit den 5 Einstellungen der Sounds klang sehr verlockend. Denn eine schnelle Umstellung der Sounds am Bass ist schon wichtig. Da will ich nicht mit 2-3 Potis spielen. Die Sounds sind voreingestellt und klasse. Klare Abgrenzung zueinander. zugegeben Geschmacksache mit was man gern spielt und welche Musikrichtung man verfolgt. Aber für einen der alles spielt können alle 5 gut gebraucht werden.
Auch die Potis haben einen guten Effekt. Mittelstellung mit einem kleinen Raster. Da weis man vorher wo man ist und braucht nicht ganz zu drehen.

Fazit:
Ein leicht spielbarer 5-Saiter. Sowohl in unteren Lagen, als auch oben. Und der Sound ist hervorragend, auch ohne zusätzliche Effektgeräte, denn die ändern nur was raus kommt.
Und dann noch der Preis. Ich sprech extra nicht vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, denn bei so günstigem Preis könnte man nicht viel erwarten. Hier komplett falsch.

Es un bajo con muchas posibilidades de sonidos con los cuales experimentar para buscar tu sonido propio gracias a la eq que lleva de por sí.

Como pros diré que es un bajo cómodo, muy rápido y con una facilidad de ajuste brutal, te permite tener las cuerdas muy pegadas al diapasón, perfecto para tapping y slap. Tiene mucha nitidez y la 5a cuerda está muy definida y equilibrada en respecto al resto, yo he tocado rap-metal mucho tiempo en Drop C y en ningún momento me ha fallado en respuesta con los graves.

Como contra, que tampoco lo considero un contra en dependiendo que estilos, es que tiene excesiva salida, vale que es un bajo activo, pero al menos el mio tiene demasiada caña, también el pote de graves, cuando lo realza ahí hace bola, no está demasiado definido, antes he hablado que era muy nítido y definido, siempre y cuando no potencies ningún potenciómetro, en plano y con las eq de fabrica.

En definitiva, para lo que cuesta el instrumento en sí, lo veo muy compensado y sobretodo muy versátil con lo que puedes tocar casi todos los estilos sin ninguna pega, no es un Sadowsky, pero es de lo mejor de esta gama de precios.
