Astounding Trombone!!!

I've been a Pro-Trombonist for 37 years now and have played nearly all the big name trombone models including some rare vintage Instruments like Minick, Williams, NY and Mt.Vernon Bach, Elkhart Conns as well as custom horns. I'd heard great things about the Yamaha 891Z but had never tried one so I ordered one from Thomann who provided great service and delivered within just a few days. Right out of the box the instrument was perfect in every way. To my amazement I decided to keep it after just a couple of hours of playing.
I absolutely love the slide action, the response is very fast and there are many rich overtones in the sound just like a great vintage horn..... But much easier to play!
I am very satisfied with the 891Z and the great service provided by the Thomann team.

Yamaha have done it again

I really like this trombone, it's well built, feels like a quality instrument and, to my mind, priced very competitively (the price has increased somewhat since I bought mine). Yamaha have clearly invested heavily in brass instrument design & production over recent years and their Custom Z ranges don't disappoint (I have a Custom Z tenor sax too which is also a fabulous instrument).

I initially wasn't too interested in the interchangeable leadpipes, however, after trying each of them a bit I'm now actually appreciating their different qualities.

I tried several other trombones before purchasing this one, even sending one all the way back to Thomann from the UK (I'd like to thank Thomann for such generous customer service, especially as it was sent back right on the verge of its Return expiry date).

For a small bore instrument without F attachment I think this bone is hard to beat.

Hervorragendes Instrument

Die Yamaha YSL-891 Z ist die beste Posaune, die ich bisher in den Händen hatte. Sehr gute Ansprache, homogener Sound in allen Lagen. Hervorragende Verarbeitung. Und: nicht so wichtig, aber es freut: ein sehr schöner und leichter Koffer.

Nachsatz nach kapp 4 Jahren: immer noch total zufrieden.
